Announcing New Drummer |
The new drummer is Hugo Nylander, known from the rock band Djävulskap and the black metal band ex-Denicalis.
– Since my black metal band Denicalis was laid to rest I missed playing metal. When Souldrainer called me for a session job for their upcoming tour I said yes right away. I’ve listened a lot to their CDs before and knew what I was up against. After a couple of shows together they asked if I wanted to join as a permanent part of Souldrainer and I couldn’t resist accepting it! I’m really looking forward to the upcoming shows and recording the new album later this year!
Previous drummer Sverker Berggren decided together with the band to leave the drummers throne. Souldrainer wants to thank Sverker for his duties during his time in the band and wish him all the best in the future.

Neogenesis Tour Blog. Prague, CZ |
Prague is huge, traffic is crazy but organized. Marcus was dropped off at hotel to sleep and the rest got some sightseeing before load in at the venue. Everyone on the tour are now coughing, tired and sick in one way or another.
Dan from DIABOLCIAL had to go to the hospital because he couldn’t breath. They fixed him really quick and now he’s stronger than before. This tour has become a sickness tour.
The venue was cold and we had to local support bands. We also met a guy from our home town Östersund in there. It was strange speaking Swedish to someone “from the outside”.

Neogenesis Tour Blog. Plzen, CZ |
They say this is the Capitol of Pilsner and it probably is, wonderful beer! The drive here was long but on a high way so it was fast. Marcus had to sleep of his fever so He was left at the motel during load in and sound check and was picked up right before the gig.
“Before the show I wanted to warm up my vocals to see if I was alive. I had to lean against the wall to not fall down on the floor and I wasn’t sure how the show would go” – Marcus.
The show started and the audience was awesome, gave Marcus that extra needed energy to finish to show properly. Once again there were people singing along.
Right after the show Marcus went back to the motel to get a good 12 hour sleep to fight the fever.

Neogenesis Tour Blog. Ostrava, CZ |
Marcus cold has developed to a nasty fever now and he’s not feeling good at all. Carl from DIABOLICAL and Dagna, Tour Manager, went to Krakow to pic up their bus that had been fixed during the last days.
We met up with Radio Revolta at the venue and made an interview with them. They told us that in the gig it was most people from Poland, because it is so close Ostrava, CZ.
The show was ok considering fever and other sicknesses.
In the car we listened to an awful song called “yesterday” by a band that must have been “dagger”, not sure. But it must’ve been a joke. Anyone heard that one before? Is it a Chech song?

Neogenesis Tour Blog. Trinec, CZ |
The drive to Czech over the mountains was slow. The roads remind us of the ones in the Norway. Serpentine roads around the mountains. Very beautiful. Except for Norway doesn’t have castles in the mountains, only trolls. The weather is getting really cold and snowy.
In Trinec we passed the Rock Shop and went in there to buy cool stuff. The boys in Warheim needed more makeup again. We got to sign their wall and they took photos of us for their own web site.
This venue had the biggest stage yet on the tour and the audience was the biggest too. All bands did a great show and we could tell that the audience had heard our songs before when they sang along!

Neogenesis Tour Blog. Banska Bystrica, SK |
This morning we got to sleep in very long because the drive was not that far, it was really appreciated because we were started to get really exhausted. The motel we slept at was really huge and looked like it was an old mental hospital from a scary movie. The gatekeeper was really sour and seemed to hate her life in general and she hated us too.
We went to the venue to pick some stuff up and then we had pizza for breakfast/lunch.
The venue was a pub and had a small stage. The local drunks helped us loading in to the venue. For dinner we got pizza. Alot of pizza today.
During our show one of the guitar amps died and we had a small pause to sort it out. A fuse broke and luckily Marcus had spare fuses for Peavey amps in his bag.

Neogenesis Tour Blog. Bratislava, SK |
This was our first time in Slovakia. We drove over the border from Krakow PL, and the landscape started to take form as we drove down the road. The Slovakian nature is more like we are used to in the north of Sweden with all the mountains. It also looks like they have a bit higher standards than the Poles.
It was a long long drive and we didn’t get much sleep last night so we had to make many stops to pry open the led eyelids we had. Once at the venue it looked like a pizzeria, just like in Krakow, but again, a much much bigger venue opened up for us.
It was a good crowd for all three bands, even if they weren’t as crazy as the Poles, they showed great appreciation when we talked to them after the show and some of them was singing along with the lyrics! Suffering from sleep deprivation we hurried back to the motel to get the well deserved sleep. This time we got to sleep till noon and it was really nice!
Thank you Bratislava!

Neogenesis Tour Blog. Krakow, PL |
Today we went up early to go with WARHEIM to Auswitch for a guided tour. DIABOLICAL stayed behind to take care of some bus business.
Auswitch was awful! I mean, when you have read the history and heard the stories. Watched some movies, you sure know that it was terrible. But visiting was a complete different thing. We were standing right there, where people have been murdered, raped and experimented with. It was like walking around in a funeral that never ended. No one can go in there without tearing up the eyes. It was like visiting a factory created with the sole purpose to eliminate as many human beings as possible. And at the same time document everything. Well, some say it’s a conspiracy theory..
The town square in Krakow is a huge square, probably the biggest in the universe. We drove into it with our car and the police was fast to stop us and give a lecture of street roles. They said you MUST obey the signs! Gosh..
If you have followed our blog you should know by now that we have been enjoying the food very much! This time we went for kebab. It wasn’t that good at all. No more kebab in Krakow for us.
When we first saw the door to Kot Karola it looked like a really small club. The door lead down to a huge maze of rooms and bars. Everything in stone. The stage was a bit small but it was ok. The audience was really good and seemed to enjoy our show. Some old and we surly got some new ones too. We even got to speak Swedish with a couple of them!
After the show we didn’t had to drive our car so we managed to drink a couple of beers and talk to the fans. They were really nice!
Thank you Krakow!
